BAGGAGE COLLECTION, PASSING THROUGH PASSPORT CONTROL – ALTHOUGH YOU HAVE TO USE THE TRAIN FROM ONE LEVEL TO ANOTHER – IS TROUBLE-FREE. DOMESTIC LINES ARE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNATIONAL ONES BY RAILWAYS, TOO. IT CAN TAKE MORE THAN 20 MINUTES TO GET TO THE SELECTED GATE QUICKLY. THERE IS ALSO 3 HOURS FREE INTERNET AND POWER ACCESS FOR ALL POSSIBLE PLUGINS. THE „DUTY-FREE” STORES MAINLY SELL PERFUMES AND EXPENSIVE ALCOHOLS FROM A HIGH SHELF. ALTHOUGH DUTY-FREE IS STILL EXPENSIVE. MOST OF THE ALCOHOLS ARE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN IN OUR SUPERMARKETS.
  • THE NEW TERMINAL OF THE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. FROM THE CITY AT AN EARLY HOUR (3:00 – 5:00 AM) IS ACCESSIBLE ONLY BY TAXI. 57 km

KUALA LUMPUR
  • D’GARDEN HOTEL – OK, BUT IT DOES NOT KNOCK DOWN. THE HOTEL AGREED TO STORE OUR STUFF WHEN WE TRAVELLED AROUND THE SURROUNDING COUNTRIES – A LARGE +. INTERNET VERY SLOW. BREAKFAST INCLUDED (SAUSAGES, FRIED EGG, FRUIT (PAPAYA, WATERMELON) TOAST, BUTTER, JAM, MARBLE CAKE, RICE, PASTA, COFFEE, TEA (WE GOT GREEN))
  • IN THIS DISTRICT, WE WERE PROBABLY THE ONLY WHITES. DURING OUR STAYS, ON THE STREET, IN THE RESTAURANT OR IN THE SHOP, WE DID NOT SEE ANY WHITE MAN. IN THE HOTEL, A WHITE COUPLE ATE BREAKFAST ONCE. THE DISTRICT IS NOT BAD, HOWEVER, IT IS NOT POPULAR BECAUSE TOURISTS AND TRAVEL AGENTS PREFER THE MORE CENTRALLY LOCATED CHINESE OR COMMERCIAL PART OF KL. I DO NOT THINK THAT THE STANDARD OF THE HOTEL WOULD BE LOWER THAN ELSEWHERE. RESIDENTS ARE SUPER NICE AND HELPFUL.

WORTH SEEING

CAMERON HIGHLANDS (TANAH RATA)
  • A TRIP TO A BEAUTIFUL, SUPPOSEDLY ANCIENT FOREST; CLIMBING THE LOOKOUT TOWER OF THE HIGHEST HILL IN CAMERON HIGHLANDS; VISITING A TEA PLANTATION (PLANTATION FACTORY BUILDING) – THE WALK THROUGH A ONE SIDE GLASSED CORRIDOR ALONG THE 4 PRODUCTION ROOMS MAKES AN IMPRESSION. VISIBLE MACHINES ARE FROM THE YEAR 1935, OR A LITTLE YOUNGER. LOOKS LIKE WORKS HERE A DOZEN OR SO PEOPLE SERVICE, TRANSFERRED ALIVE FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY. TERRIBLE. NOT EVEN THE CONDITIONS OF THEIR WORK, BUT THE IMPRESSION THAT THERE ARE STILL SUCH-LOOKING FACTORIES PRODUCING KNOWN AND USED BY ALL PRODUCTS); SOME FORM OF A ZOO WITH BUTTERFLIES AND A STRAWBERRY FARM.
  • REGARDING THE AFOREMENTIONED TOUR, I SPOKE WITH THE TAXI DRIVER – PARAM, TAXI NO. WJL 942; ph. 019-5605940 HE IS READY FOR THIS KIND OF SERVICE FOR LESS MONEY …

ONE CAN SEE THE 4-METER HIGH WALLS, THE POWDER MAGAZINE THE SIZE OF A LARGER BATHROOM IN A CONTEMPORARY HOUSE, A FEW GUNS, SOME EMPTY ROOMS AND A TINY, UNINTERESTING PRISON. AN ABSOLUTE MISTAKE.

  • GEORGETOWN PRIDES ITSELF ON ITS CUISINE AND STREET FOOD. IT IS A PHENOMENON IN THE CULTURAL CATEGORY. STREET FOOD IS FOUND THROUGHOUT ASIA, BUT NOT IN SUCH INTENSITY AND FORM AS IN GEORGETOWN. IN THE EVENING, STALLS, BOOTHS, WOKS, GAS BOTTLES APPEAR ON VARIOUS STREETS AND COOKING, FRYING, GRILLING BEGIN. THE FOOD IS PREPARED AT A DIZZYING PACE. CONTROLLED, SMOOTH, ECONOMICAL MOVEMENTS LEAD TO A GREAT CULINARY EFFECT. THE PRICES DEPEND ON WHAT YOU EAT. THE MOST EXPENSIVE ARE FISH, CRABS, SHELLS
  • JAYA – RESTAURANT OPEN 7/24. WE HAVE ORDERED DELICIOUS LOOKING RICE WITH CRAB, „BABY” SQUID AND OCTOPUS, GIBLETS, SHRIMP NOODLES AND SOME SUSPICIOUS CANNED DRINKS. AWFUL. IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO DRINK. FOOD VERY GOOD

WE CHOSE THE BEST – IN OUR OPINION – LOOKING GRUB, SERVED BY TWO GUESTS. ONE CAN SEE THEY ARE KNOWN BECAUSE THEY HAD HUNG A SHEET OF SOME LOCAL READING WITH A HUGE ARTICLE ABOUT THEM. UNFORTUNATELY, THE FOOD LOOKED BETTER THAN IT TASTED. FOR TWO LARGE PORTIONS, WE PAID 45 RM, i.e. OVER US $ 14. WE GOT, AMONG OTHERS, OCTOPUS, LARGE SHRIMP, MEDIUM-SIZED SQUID, FISH BALLS AND EGGS. ALL THIS, INCLUDING THE EGGS, COATED SOME SWEETLY SOUR SAUCE. AS GREENGROCERY, CUCUMBER CUT INTO THIN BARS. GOOD, BUT NOT EXTRAORDINARY …
